- Merry [Holiday]! Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and a Fantabulus Kwanzaa to all! Today is Christmas (or the first day of Hanukkah...I think), and we have a special treat in store (and has been there for some time) for you all; including renders, information and the long delayed Design Document. As for the coding, we have released an internal alpha-test, which is coming along great, even though work has slowed down for the holiday season. We will soon be on our way to the next release, this time with new weapons and player models, and the like. And now cometh the time for the media we have promised. First
Jumbo Pie's British Rifleman, with a few basic pieces of equipment
(take note that equipment like pouches, grenades and such will be
attached via attachment points. The equipment attached is determined
by the map, the player's class and equipment selected). By the way,
our first map is the Second Battle of Ypres, which occurred in April-May
1915, and the Commonwealth didn't adopt the MkI steel helmet until
June of the same year. The model will be modified for Ypres. Also
here is the textured No. 27 Phosphorus grenade. And our first teaser of El's map, Ypres. And finally the Design Document, located at the following link: That about does it for today, but a hefty update it was. Merry Christmas to all, and to all a goodnight. Update
- Ever On Avete! As of late, we have been assiduously inching closer and closer to a release everyday, thanks to the dedication of our team, and the amazing work of our coder, Baer. We have also been correcting works, and redoing the ones that were not quite up-to-par; Our SMLE was the first of which. We have also made renders pop-up in new properly sized windows (except the ones in older news posts). Note that you may have to allow pop-ups on this site, if you are using a pop-up blocked (Firefox has one built in). So
here is our remodeled SMLE MkIII* - the standard rifle of almost all
Commonwealth countries, and arguably the most effective rifle of the
war. And
the Gewehr 98b, a scope-fitted model with a turned-down bolt (our
regular Gewehr 98 shares the remodeled receiver and bolt assembly,
minus the turned-down bolt) for ease of use with the scope. Valete for now, and be sure to watch out for the public Design Document in the next update. Update
- Remembrance Greetings, everyone. Today is Remembrance day (Veterans' Day for our pals down south), which marks the 87th Anniversary of the end of World War One (The Armistice was signed on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month). To show our appreciation for those who lost their lives defending this and many other great countries, we will supply you with a few renders and a welcome to our new coder, Baer. Here's
our Webley VI, Modeled by JediPottsy, skinned by Docm30. That's about it for now.
Update
- Happy Halloween Happy Halloween to everyone!. First off, sorry about our absence, but real-life for the team has been getting in the way of the team (Damn real-life). But we are finally back, and as you may have noticed, the site has gotten a make-over, we also have a few pieces to show off. Now,
if you are new to The Storm of Steel, we are a Realistic World War
1 mod for Half-Life². If you want to learn more, check out the
Information (Which I just rewrote, so everyone,
new or old, should visit) page and others for more info about the
mod. Now
we have the Third and final update to the Stielgranate: Check back soon for another update (If any old images are showing up, just refresh the page).
Update
- Terrorist Attack I am sure most of you have heard about the terrorist attacks in London England earlier today - 37 people were killed and over 700 wounded, so we should each take a moment of silence for those lost in this and other terrorist attacks, and hope it was in isolated incident. Read more at MSNBC Update
- The Call of Duty Hello
again, it seems the majority of the team has just vanished into thin-air,
and we are now but a few devote members (If you are on the team and
we haven't been in contact lately, please message me or something,
otherwise I will be forced to remove you from the team). But this
isn't the end, because while I still draw breath, TSS will not die.
So this brings me to the part where we send out an SOS... To
make up for the last update, here are some renders of the (Unskinned)
German Trench Clubs (One field-expedient, one mass-produced). Until next time. Out. |
